Will A Posture Support Help Me At Work?

This is one of the most common questions I get. What is the best office chair? What is the best posture support? Will a posture support fix all of my back problems?

Sadly, the answer is “no.” There’s no way it can!

In order for you to have and then maintain good posture, your posture muscles are going to have to work with you. You can’t remember to have better posture. You can’t just set a clock, take ginko biloba, wear a posture bra, or have a super fancy posture pillow and think that your posture will improve.

In fact, if your muscles are strong enough, you don’t need any of that stuff.

If you are going to sit in front of your computer all day, drive to work, sit down for dinner and anything else that you have to do in front of you all day… your posture is going to suffer. All of your muscles in the front of your body are being used while your back muscles go unused.

By doing some simple posture exercises (which include stretching the front of your body and strengthening the back) you’ll be surprised at how different you’ll feel and how quickly the results can come. If you just buy another support or device, your weak muscles will only grow weaker, making the job of changing your spine that much more difficult.
